The Virginia Meissner Sno-Park is Bend’s community ski recreation area located off Century Drive approximately 15 miles from Bend towards Mt. Bachelor.
The area features 40 km of exceptional track, stunning views and a variety of terrain, for both skating and classic technique. There are trails for all levels, from beginners to experienced skiers. Meissner Nordic Ski Club now grooms the Meissner trails four days per week on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sundays from December 1 – March 31 thanks to our supporters, generous visitors and various community sponsors.
At the trail head there is a spacious lodge that is open to the public. Inside you will find picnic tables and bench seating. There is a also a wood-burning stove that is lit most weekends. The lodge is a great place to get out of the wind and snow. Between the lodge and the parking lot is a set of double pit toilets. Cell phone reception at the parking lots is spotty at best, but on the trails you may be able to find better reception.
What to Remember
If you go remember to bring your Sno-Park Permit, available at several retailers in Bend (Sunnyside Sports and WebSkis), and place in a visible place on your front windshield. Remember to park head-in (engine first) to the snowbanks and perpendicular to the banks. And, if you ski early, before 8 am, park to the inside loop — this allows for more efficient clearing of the lot on snow days.
Stop by the lodge to pick up your Meissner Nordic brochure and trail map.
There is also a donation box next to the lodge to support grooming operations, so please help keep us groomed and help us pay off the PistenBully groomer.
