Luminaria – Saturday, Feb 4th, 5-9pm

Meissner Nordic is hosting the annual Luminaria Event. Please join us Saturday February 4th, 2017 for a magical evening of skiing or snowshoeing by candlelight. Luminaries will light the 1.5mile path to the Meissner Shelter. Waiting at the shelter will be fire pits and good cheer. Don’t miss this unique experience. The event is free and runs 5pm-9pm.

Parking can be limited due to the popularity of this event. Please carpool if possible. We will have parking lot attendants on duty to help fit the maximum number of cars in the lot, so please follow their suggestions. This year Bend Endurance Academy will be running a free shuttle from Wanoga Sno-Park to Meissner from 6pm-9:30pm. If the Meissner parking lot is full please proceed to Wanoga for more parking.

We have received concerns about the use of glow sticks for Luminaria. We use glow sticks for safety purposes. They are less bright than headlamps, but light people up so they don’t get run over. The Meissner Board has discussed more environmental, reusable options for future events.  Glowsticks will be used this year because they were purchased in advance. We will retire glow sticks for future use. We greatly appreciate supporters’ concerns and suggestions. We are a community organization and value everyone’s input. Please email suggestions to info@meissnernordic.org
